POSITION TITLE: Associate Veterinarian [230803SK] - Three (3) openings

POSITION DUTIES: Perform physical examinations in a clinical environment of exotic animal species. Develop treatment plans based on specific presenting complaints utilizing various diagnostics and treatment options available in-house and at referral hospitals. Perform simple and advanced surgical procedures in-house on exotic species. Provide in-depth husbandry information to exotic pet owners to assist with correcting illnesses or injuries. Interpret blood, radiograph, ultrasound, and CT results on exotic species. Maintain complete and accurate patient records.



REQUIREMENTS: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, or equivalent, plus State of CA license. Plus, two years of experience/knowledge of: 1) exotic species anatomy and physiology for small mammals, reptiles and avians; 2) diagnosis and treatment of exotic species illnesses, pathologies, and injuries; 3) proficiency in mathematics required for calculation of medication dosage; 4) uses, efficacy and side-effects of common medications; and 5) molecular biology (chemistry, biology).

SALARY: $105,000 to $145,000 per year
